What leave types does factoHR support?
All standard Indian leave types: Earned/Privilege (EL/PL), Sick (SL), Casual (CL), Comp-off, Maternity, Paternity, Optional/Restricted Holiday, Bereavement and Loss of Pay (LOP). Each is fully configurable for accrual, grant, carry-forward, lapse and approval workflow.
How does sandwich leave work?
Sandwich leave applies when an employee takes leave immediately before and after a holiday or weekly off, and the intervening non-working days count as leave too. factoHR lets you turn the sandwich rule on or off per leave type, with location and grade-level overrides. The rule is auto-applied; payroll and balance reflect it without manual intervention.
Can different teams have different leave policies?
Yes. Policies are configurable by grade, designation, department, location and shift. A factory floor worker in Bhiwandi can have a different accrual rule than a head-office executive in BKC. Policy assignment is auto-driven by employee profile fields.
How is leave encashment calculated?
You configure the encashment rule: which leave types are encashable, what wage base (basic, basic+DA, gross), what threshold and what payout cycle. factoHR computes the amount at year-end or on exit and posts it to the relevant payroll component automatically.
Does it support multi-location holiday lists?
Yes. Each office or plant has its own holiday calendar. Mumbai uses the Maharashtra gazette, Bengaluru a Karnataka list, Chennai a Tamil Nadu list. Employees see only their location's calendar. The Maharashtra 2026 holiday list is pre-loaded.
How does the mobile app work for leave?
Native iOS and Android apps. Employees apply for leave, view balance, request comp-off and check team calendar from their phone. Managers approve or reject in one tap with leave reason and dates visible. Push notifications keep both sides updated through the workflow.
What reports come out of leave management?
Out of the box: leave balance summary, leave-taken by type, pending approvals report, department-wise leave trend, year-end carry-forward projection, encashment liability and absence patterns. Custom reports can be built with the report designer.
